Community At Our Core

Last week at The Den Community, we talked about three big questions so many of us wrestle with as young adults and professionals:

  1. Who are you? (your identity)

  2. Why are you here? (your purpose)

  3. Who are your people? (your community)

Our mission is simple:

We exist to create spaces where any young adult or young professional can form organic community, wrestle with what they believe about Jesus, and discover how to follow Him more clearly.

Why “Community Is at Our Core”

One of our core values says it best:

Everything we do is rooted in real relationships. Content matters, but connection matters more. We’re not here just to sit shoulder to shoulder with strangers, we want to live face to face with people who know us. Community isn’t a bonus; it’s the goal.

We don’t just want to create another ministry or event. We want to build a community, a place where you can laugh, talk, ask hard questions, and walk through life and faith together.

Good teaching and worship matter, but they’re not the main thing. They set the stage for the deeper work, the conversations, relationships, and real connections that make life richer and more meaningful.

Because here’s what we know:

The quality of our lives is directly linked to the quality of our community.

What Scripture Shows Us

In Acts 2:42–47, the early followers of Jesus lived in deep connection with one another. They prayed, ate together, shared what they had, and cared for each other’s needs. Their faith increased their sense of community and their love for one another showed the world who they followed.

Jesus said it this way:

“Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.” – John 13:35 (NLT)

That’s what we’re striving for here at The Den, a community where people walk in and say, “This feels real. This feels like family.”

Let’s Build This Together

We’re not trying to be the biggest or flashiest group in Denver. We’re trying to build something genuine, a space that helps you discover who you are, why you’re here, and who your people are.

So as you reflect this week, take some time to think and pray about these two questions:

  1. Where are you at with community right now? Do you feel connected, or do you feel like something’s missing?

  2. What might God be saying to you about your community? Is He nudging you to reach out, make space for others, or simply keep showing up?

This Week's Action Items

  • 💬 Start a conversation — Ask someone you met at The Den to grab coffee or lunch this week.

  • 🏡 Create space — Host a small gathering, dinner, or game night to bring people together.

  • 🙏 Pray for your people — Ask God to show you who to invest in and how to be present in their lives.

  • ✍️ Reflect daily — Write down one way you experienced community or connection each day this week.

Verse to Meditate On

“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: if either of them falls down, one can help the other up.” – Ecclesiastes 4:9–10 (NIV)

A Short Prayer

Lord,
Thank You for creating us to live in community. Help me build deeper relationships rooted in love, honesty, and faith. Show me the people You want me to walk with in this season, and teach me how to love them well. May my life reflect the kind of authentic community You designed us for.
Amen.
